Have you found that you’re not yet famous enough to have your own Wikipedia page? Or has it been deleted?
When this happens to us, we often wonder if there are other encyclopedic sites like Wikipedia on which it would be interesting to create a page as we would have done on Wikipedia.
To get an “easy” outgoing link to your site (backlink), have a neutral third-party media present your activity in a factual way, or increase your chances of appearing in Google with a nice Knowledge Graph.
I present the 8 main encyclopedic alternatives to Wikipedia. With the advantages and disadvantages of each, and when it might be worth using them.
Plan
- 1 Wikitia: correct domain authority but not very transparent
- 2 EverybodyWiki: easy-to-create form

There are many sites similar in appearance to Wikipedia, but on more targeted themes. Their notoriety criteria are therefore less stringent than Wikipedia’s, but their domain authority is also lower. Examples include WikiLibéral, Conservapedia, Ekopedia, Musipedia, Wiki-start-up, etc.

- wikipedia’s stricter policy on conflicts of interest.

Wikiwand isn’t on this list, as it’s simply a site that presents pages already created on Wikipedia in a more modern guise.
